Fall has finally arrived!
Are you ready?
With the change of seasons it means the holidays are right around the corner.
This can be such a stressful time for many reasons. Our diets tend to take a back seat to all the yummy treats that surround us.
With just a bit of planning we can prepare ourselves and our bodies to fight off all those outside influences and be the best it can be. Today I am talking about taking time NOW before we get over stressed from the holiday frenzy and to take care of your body and give it a little reset!
How you might be Asking— while there are so many things you can do resetting your liver so it can do the job it is meant to do will set you up to conquer the crazy months ahead and go into the new year with a plan!
I love when I have the opportunity to do a FULL cleansing of the liver! I know it sounds so crazy but when I do this it is like taking a weight off my shoulders and putting a little bounce in my step! AND although there are so many ways to cleanse the liver IT does not need to be difficult! With a few diet tweaks and exercises you can reap the rewards tomorrow!
Here is a fun fact – Anger is stored in the liver!
Think about it when someone drinks too much alcohol many times they get mad. You know the term and angry drunk – makes sense when you think about. So, sometimes by cleansing the liver we are releasing anger that has not been realized.
A healthy liver will help detoxify almost anything! Your liver is so important to your overall health that taking care of it should be high on your list for your personal well-being!
Now this is going to seem a little “hokey” BUT this costs absolutely nothing and can put you on the road to cleansing your liver!
- Stand Up
- Put Your Hands on your hips or fold across your chest and growl! REALLY Growl! (like a bear!) Get it out!
- Do this 5 times or as needed!
- Take a deep breath
How do you feel?
I was the biggest skeptic to things like this – but by releasing your anger you are cleansing your liver! Your family will thank you and you will too! Give it a try!
Here is another experiment regarding your liver and anger. The next time you are feeling angry or mad DON’T hold it in! BUT don’t take it out on your family or loved ones. “Pretend” to be mad and do the exercise above!
If anger is a problem for your or someone you love – look at liver health. Consider a full liver detox (message me for ideas) and eat liver cleansing foods! Remember nothing happens over night – consistency like anything is the only way you will know if something is working.
A few foods to encourage liver health are:
Garlic, lemon, limes, grapefruit, celery, turmeric, leafy greens, green tea, avocados, apples and olive oil are just a few!
Oh and by the way you will have more energy, sleep better, be happier, more vibrant skin, less sugar cravings and you might even loose a few pounds!
When possible, I prefer holistic remedies to solve problems or issues I may be dealing with. Trying to find the cause rather than treating a symptom seems to be a forgotten art in healing our bodies without medication.
